With every finger and toe crossed, I stepped on the scale yesterday for the first time in two weeks. After seemingly endless days of holiday celebrating and lounging like I’ve never lounged before, I was SHOCKED to only see a two pound increase. I totally tip my hat to the intense spin classes I’ve been keeping up with. One would think that going to the gym everyday (with the exception of the Thanksgiving Eve and Day) would yield visible positive results in the hot-bod department… but I can’t complain… it was an incredibly indulgent and relaxing time.
I know I should be posting pics of sweet potato souffle and friends enjoying bottomless glasses of wine, but here was the real highlight of my holiday – hanging with my old best friend while her new family was in Mexico. My sweet girl Lucy can’t do much anymore (and neither can Eli’s old pup Rastas for that matter), and I was happy to oblige their lazy ways on Eli’s living room floor for eight days.
Isn’t she such a princess fuzzy muffin girl?!
She’s now deaf and almost always in sleep mode, but she still gets excited for walks and treats and toys flying through the air. And she remembers me, which simultaneously broke and melted my heart. I am so grateful to have had this week with her and those other seven years as her companion. I just love that Lucy Girl.
