Crab Trap ceviche

To celebrate Eli’s birthday this past weekend, we borrowed a couple crab traps, bought some bait, and crossed our fingers while we fumbled through our first-ever dock-crabbing expedition in Garibaldi on Tillamook Bay. The weather and sunset were some of the best I’ve experienced on the Oregon Coast.

After about four hours of tending to our traps and rings, we’d caught nearly a hundred little guys and three legal size keepers. Once cooked, cracked and cleaned, we’d harvested about a pound of meat. It was the perfect amount for Crab Trap ceviche to kick off the birthday dinner!
