Jamie and Jesse are throwing a party in Boston tonight. Sadly I am on the other side of the country and must live vicariously through text messages and Instagram posts. The party theme? Snobbery! Bring something you’re snobbish about. How fun is that? As of last night, their plan was to make homemade flour tortillas (by Jesse) and cupcakes (by Jamie). Both are total pros at their respective dishes.
What do I feel particularly snobby about?
Salad. Specifically salad dressing.
Carol taught me a long time ago that homemade is the only way to go when it comes to flavoring up a salad. I’ve been whisking and shaking up the good stuff ever since.
Last night I took an Italian chopped salad to Megan’s pre-wedding picnic at Laurelhurst park, and it seemed to be a fan favorite. In a bowl put the following foods (chopped small):
Red cabbage, cucumber, red pepper, celery, parsley, salami, provolone cheese, pepperoncinis, garbanzo beans, sunflower seeds
Mustard vinaigrette dressing: Olive oil, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, spicy mustard, S + P (I didn’t measure anything; just add stuff until it tastes tasty!)
No pics, sorry!
What would you take to the snob party?
I’m not sure what I would bring?? A list of some sort:)
